Full-time fees for new students 2018-2019
Tuition fees for full-time undergraduate study as a new student in 2018-2019.
The tuition fee shown in the table is for one year only. Students who are studying a programme that lasts more than 1 year will be charged a fee per year of study.
Tuition fees increase every year in the majority of cases.
If you intend to study over additional years, you should take this annual tuition fee increase into consideration when you estimate your fees for a degree.
Rest of UK (RUK) full-time student fees
Due to UK Government announcements in relation to RUK undergraduate fees the University of Edinburgh UG RUK fee will be confirmed later in 2024.
International full-time student fees
If you are an Overseas/International taught student studying full-time over multiple years, you will:
- not be affected by the annual tuition fee increase
- be charged a fixed annual fee based on your start date
If you are given direct entry into Year 2 or Year 3, you will be charged the same annual rate as the year group that you join.
If you are a new student from the EU, EEA or Switzerland, and plan to start your studies in 2021-2022 or later, your tuition fees are likely to be in line with the international rate.
Applicants who may be eligible for a 'home' fee status
If you already have the right to live in the UK, you may be eligible for a 'home' fee status.

Fee status information for EU applicants
Deferred entry
If you have already accepted an offer but deferred entry until 2021-22 or later, your fee status will follow the latest guidance, not that of the year you applied.
Continuing students
If you have already started your studies, your fee status will not change.
